Do you allow pets?

We currently do not allow pets, unfortunately. We love our 4 legged friends as much as you do but due to some past experiences we have to say no pets. 

Is there a charge for additional guests?

Yes, we charge $40 per night additional for each guest over 2 in Pad #1 and Pad #2. Cleo's Place Pad #4 and Riverview Retreat Pad #5 the nightly rate includes up to the maximum allowed of 4 people without any additional charge. 

Are there outdoor Fire Pits?

Pappaws Fishing Pad #1 and #2 have 3 Outdoor Fire Pits on the property for his guests. They are first come first served. Be mindful of other guests. Firewood is available on site at no charge. Cleo's Place Pad #4 and Riverview Retreat Pad #5 offer Gas Fire Pit Tables on the decks that overlook the River.

Can I park a Boat Trailer?

Yes, we have plenty of room to park your boat trailer with the exception of Riverview Retreat Pad #5 which has very limited parking area.

What is the area known for?

Besides being the best Fishing pretty much anywhere, the Tri-City area is well known for NASCAR's Bristol Motor Speedway. Also, a every popular Rhythm & Roots Reunion Festival is in September each year. Bristol is also the "Birthplace of Country Music" with a museum showcasing the area in Downtown Bristol. This is just to name a few.

Am I always allowed to fish?

There is fishing allowed on most parts of the River all year. But from November 1 - February 1, Fishing is not allowed in front of Pappaw's Fishing Pad #1 and #2. This is spawning zone and TVA does not allow fishing between those dates at Pad #1 and Pad #2. However, Cleo's Place Pad #4 and Riverview Retreat Pad #5, as well as other parts of the River, are not in a spawning zone and are accessible for fishing all year long.

Can I wade at Pappaw's Fishing Pad?

Yes, when the TVA is not releasing water you can wade across the South Holston River. Please use caution and wade at your own risk.

When does TVA Generate?

TVA publishes their release dates and times. Be sure to know when these times are for your safety.

What other outdoor activities are popular in the area?

Tri-Cities offers many other outdoor activities besides Fly Fishing like hiking the Virginia Creeper Trail, biking the TVA Trails, kayaking down the Nolichucky, canoeing the South Holston River, wildlife viewing at Bays Mountain Park to name a few.

Where is Pad #3 ???

Peoples often ask where is Pad #3. We previously had a camper that fisherman would rent that served as our Pad #3. It since had to go away but Pappaw does plan to add another Pad #3 in the future. Stay tuned!!
