Pappaw's Fishing Pad #1 in Bluff City TN offers a picturesque retreat nestled along the tranquil South Holston River, renowned for its trout fishing and named one of the top 5 rivers by USA Today. This cozy waterfront unit features 2 bedrooms and 1 bath, comfortably accommodating up to 5 guests. The main bedroom boasts a queen bed, while the second bedroom provides 3 single beds, ideal for families or small groups. Our nightly rate includes 2 guests, each additional guest is $40/night additional. (This is a very strict policy.) We do have security cameras on the Parking Area only of the property.
Step onto the deck and immerse yourself in the stunning river views while enjoying your morning coffee or evening meals. Inside, you'll find all the modern amenities you need for a comfortable stay, including a washer, dryer, microwave, and coffee bar with To-Go Cups, Ground Coffee and K-cups along with assorted Creamers and Sweeteners. New 55" Smart TV in the Living Room offering most all of the streaming services. Bring your personal login info to enjoy your favorite streaming service. YouTube TV is provided for your convenience.
Outdoor enthusiasts will delight in the array of activities available, from roasting marshmallows over one of the two fire pits to engaging in a friendly game of Horseshoes. Firewood is provided for your convenience, ensuring memorable evenings under the stars.
For those who enjoy grilling, both gas and charcoal grills are available, perfect for cooking up the day's catch or your favorite barbecue recipes. With self-check-in and ample parking for boat trailers, convenience is paramount at Pappaw's Fishing Pad #1.

November 1 - February 1 no fishing is allowed from the banks or in the water along South Holston River in front of Pad 1 and Pad 2 per TVA due to the spawning season between. Fishing on other parts of the South Holston River including Pad 4 and Pad 5 is allowed year round.

Absolutely Loved
We absolutely loved Pappaw’s Pad #1. Such A perfect location, right on a world famous trout stream. We loved sitting down by the river in the afternoons and early evening, even casting from the banks. The inside was quaint and full of lots of character. We slept well, relaxed well, rested well and really enjoyed our stay. The place was clean, very user friendly, lots of parking for our truck and trailer. Really, just could not have been better for us. Can’t recommend Pappaw’s enough!

Perfect
My buddy and I decided to do a fly fishing trip in Bristol, Tennessee, for a 2 day guided float with Jason of High Flying Flies, and one of his lodging recommendations is Pappaw’s. We arrived the night before our first day fishing and Pad #1 was perfect for what we needed. It has 2 bedrooms and 1 full size bathroom, spacious living room w internet and TV, and a complete kitchen (with coffee and supplies too). The best part was the setting.. we had our own deck overlooking the S. Holston River with a river side fire pit and lounge chairs! Pappaw even had a plate of cookies waiting on us when we arrived. Great visit and I would stay here again!
Great Location
The perfect location for fly fishing both the South Holston and Watauga rivers. Bob’s rental is clean and very well stocked with staples and everything you need to cook. I’ll definitely be back.

Perfect Fishing Trip Stay
This place is perfect for anyone that wants to do a fishing vacation. Plenty of space to hang out outside, and the river is right there for you. Its in a prime location, all the local guides and shops know Pappaws, and will float by all day and wave and chat. The house is perfect and has everything you need for a vacation and is a quick drive to Bristol if you want to get into town.
